Prosegur deploys 1,000 security professionals to safeguard Spain’s Copa del Rey final in Seville

Madrid, April 25, 2025.- Prosegur Security, a global leader in private security services, will once again be responsible for safeguarding the final of the Copa del Rey—Spain’s most historic national football competition. This year’s highly anticipated match between Real Madrid and FC Barcelona will take place on Saturday, April 26 at Seville’s La Cartuja Stadium.

For the fourth consecutive year, Prosegur will manage security for the final. This year’s deployment, its most extensive yet, involves 1,000 security professionals stationed throughout the stadium and various strategic points across Seville. With over 70,000 soccer fans expected, the enhanced security operation reflects both the scale and complexity of managing the event.

Prosegur’s efforts are grounded in its hybrid security model, which combines human expertise with advanced technology and intelligent data management. The security operation, which began a week in advance of the event, is being coordinated closely with national and local law enforcement to ensure seamless collaboration and threat mitigation.

The company’s personnel—specially trained for the occasion in partnership with the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF)—will utilize connected smart technology to anticipate and respond to potential incidents quickly and effectively.

Key areas under Prosegur’s coverage include:

  • La Cartuja Stadium, where the match will be held
  • The Real Madrid fan zone and team hotel
  • The RFEF operations tent
  • Surrounding areas of the stadium, known to experience increased petty crime before and after major events

In addition to maintaining order, Prosegur will manage access control, a vital task to prevent bottlenecks, crowd surges, and ensure a smooth, safe entry process for fans.

According to David Monge, Director of Prosegur Security for southern Spain (Andalusia, Canary Islands, Ceuta, and Melilla): “Prosegur Security’s involvement in high-attendance events like the Copa del Rey final is a testament to our commitment to operational excellence. This deployment highlights not only our technical and logistical capabilities but also our dedication to creating stable, quality employment in the regions where we operate.”

Prosegur Security is active in 34 countries across five continents and employs more than 110,000 professionals globally, with 35,000 in Spain alone. In Andalusia specifically, the company has 5,500 guards and auxiliaries, making it a major contributor to the local job market and a key player in securing large-scale events.

In recent years, Prosegur has provided security for numerous high-profile events in the region, including:
