Prosegur launches Spain’s first jet ski port security and surveillance service
The pioneering Prosegur initiative in Puerto Banús, Marbella, will protect, monitor and track the marina more quickly and effectively.
Madrid, 30 August 2024.- Prosegur, a leader in the private security sector, has introduced a pioneering port security and surveillance service in Spain using jet skis, an advanced solution to protect clients, visitors and users. The initiative has been launched in Puerto Banús, Marbella, and the company intends to expand it to other ports in Spain in the coming months.
Prosegur's new service, a consortium with Civitas Puerto Banús and backed by the company's global security reach and extensive experience, will help the security team protect, monitor and track activity around the port faster and more effectively. This service, active during the main hours of the day, includes a security detail made up of guards with experience of port management. In addition, the unit will be responsible for establishing command centers, deploying teams and protecting users and workers, as well as providing a range of maritime information.
David Monge, Director for southern Spain at Prosegur Security, explains: "For the security of a port to be truly effective and efficient, it must be covered comprehensively, promoting a culture of global security in all areas, optimising resources and efforts, as well as facilitating collaboration between all parties involved". He adds: "By partnering with leading institutions such as Civitas Puerto Banús, we can continue to improve the visitor experience and better serve our customers with new security solutions."
The innovative service will allow Prosegur to increase surveillance at strategic points, prevent theft from boats and minimise the risk of accidents on the water. In short, preserve the integral security of the port with a well-trained, committed staff supported by the best technology and equipment.
Experts in surveillance services
Prosegur has already been working with Civitas Puerto Banus for several years on security. In addition to its experience in access control, another outstanding aspect of this collaboration is the incorporation of canine guides who will accompany the port's security team, expanding their tracking capacity, improving the safety of visitors at busy times, and increasing security teams’ efficiency.
This latest initiative comes after Prosegur provided security earlier this year for the E1 Puerto Banús GP in Marbella, a speedboat championship held for the first time in the port city. Prosegur was tasked with overall protection of spectators, supervising entry, overseeing security solutions and offering two-way communication between guards and the control centre.
Within this framework, Prosegur and Civitas Puerto Banús will continue to develop security measures that improve the experience of port users and coordinate new surveillance strategies.
