Cipher and ECIJA agree to provide joint cybersecurity services in Spain, Portugal and Latam

Madrid, April 2th, 2025.- Cipher, the cybersecurity division of the Prosegur Group, has sealed a strategic alliance with ECIJA, one of the largest law firms in the Spanish market, with consolidated leadership in the field of the digital economy, to jointly provide comprehensive governance, risk and compliance (GRC) and cybersecurity services and solutions in Spain, Portugal and Latin America. The agreement reached will allow customers and users to advance in complying with the cybersecurity regulations applicable in each country from an organizational, technical and legal approach.

This strategic collaboration will see both companies jointly develop innovative, practical cybersecurity solutions in the fields of Risks and Regulatory, Governance and Technical Compliance. This will make it possible for companies to obtain a complete analysis of their security status and a technical and compliance action plan, facilitating the comprehensive execution of the applicable regulations in each country (DORA Regulation, NIS2 Directive, National Security Scheme or the General Data Protection Regulation).
"This new agreement represents another step in our goal to lead the transformation of the cybersecurity sector. The combination of knowledge of secure architectures in business processes and compliance measures, applied to our industry and the legal field, will improve the way we operate and the service we provide to organizations," explains David Fernández, CEO of Cipher.

Alonso Hurtado and Jesús Yáñez, IT, Risk & Compliance Partners at ECIJA, add: "This alliance reinforces our commitment to Cybersecurity and Regulatory Compliance, once again developing a comprehensive and global solution that allows us to respond to the great demand for specialized services in the field of Risks, Cybersecurity and Compliance that our clients demand in most of the 18 jurisdictions from where we provide services in these moments. Cybersecurity is not only a technical issue, but also a legal and organizational challenge that requires a comprehensive approach to achieve it."

Cipher's cyber intelligence unit has created, xMDR (Extended Managed Detection and Response), to detect and respond to advanced threats, covering 92.86% of MITRE ATT&CK tactics and 66.32% of MITRE techniques, the tactics, techniques and procedures of cybercriminals. The platform is made up of more than 400 automatic processes for detection, response and prevention, protecting the industry from possible attacks and breaches in its systems. This, together with Cipher's Continuous Cybersecurity Posture Improvement Service (SPIP) allows organizations to minimize the risk of being impacted by a cybersecurity incident.

A successful collaboration

Cipher and ECIJA have decades of experience in their respective sectors applying the latest technological advances. In addition to the xMDR platform, the Prosegur Group's cybersecurity unit’s SPIP combines cybersecurity architects with hackers to detect vulnerabilities and misconfigurations or configurations that do not meet best practices in the technological ecosystem of organizations, generating security plans that facilitate the compliance implementation process and reducing time and associated costs. The result is an adapted, business-focused strategy underpinned by remediation plans and cybersecurity initiatives that protect businesses and ensure full regulatory compliance.

ECIJA will oversee the implementation of the security master plan’s organizational and legal measures, assisting organizations in achieving full compliance with the applicable regulations, including the DORA Regulation, the NIS2 Directive, the National Security Scheme or the General Data Protection Regulation, as well as the various international information security standards applicable in this area, such as ISO 27.001, 27.701, 23.301, among others.
