The Prosegur Cybersecurity Division is now CERT and ISO 27001 certified

Madrid, 20 January 2016.- The Cybersecurity business line of Prosegur, worldwide benchmark in the sector of private security, has been certified as an official CERT (Computer Emergency Response Team) and secured the official certification issued by the Carnegie Mellon University in the USA. The line has also been certified ISO 27001 by AENOR. With both recognitions, the Prosegur Cybersecurity team has demonstrated its capacity to respond to any threat companies may receive in digital environments.

As a CERT, Prosegur can immediately and efficiently respond to cyber attacks in an organised manner. CERTs such as Prosegur have an enormous technological potential to protect the systems, networks and software applications of any company. Additional advantages of being a certified CERT include access to prevention services for greater IT infrastructure protection. There is also the improvement in early alerts regarding risks, threats or incidents that could affect information security. In the event of an incident, CERTs have a greater capacity of response because of the coordination of involved agents, e.g. other CERTs, internet service providers or security forces. Finally, the Cybersecurity Operations Centre monitors each incident with common action protocols and, if necessary, provides legal support while handling the incident.

Prosegur has also become a member of the Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams (FIRST), a leading international network for responding to incidents. In Spain only 13 entities, mostly public, are members of FIRST. As a member of FIRST, Prosegur has adopted various commitments to guarantee maximum efficiency in its security services. These include securing relevant information to anticipate possible risks and threats. Furthermore, FIRST members generate and share technical information, tools, methods, processes and good practices. This is all done for attaining greater information security at a global level.

Meanwhile, the Prosegur Cybersecurity business line has fostered its information security management system, securing the recognition of AENOR as being compliant with standard UNE-ISO/IEC 27001:2014. With this certification, Prosegur has objectively demonstrated incorporation of the measures necessary to safeguard confidentiality, availability and the integrity of the information concerning the services that the company provides to its clients. In doing so, the Prosegur Cybersecurity business has satisfied the most stringent standards to guarantee service to its clients. These certifications as a whole and the reputation of our traditional services vaulted Prosegur among the few companies worldwide capable of fully guaranteeing the security of a company insofar as physical security and cybersecurity.
